I remember Restoration Ale having the non-twist tops and then all of a sudden they had them. Now, they are back to non-twist. I heard the Abita guy on the Travel Channel say they did that because it stays fresher.
I've opened them with car doors, seat belts, etc but a cell phone? I haven't tried that one yet.
Abita beer bottles????

It works with mine, but it has some edges (and it's now somewhat chipped up because of it).LauraMc wrote:I remember Restoration Ale having the non-twist tops and then all of a sudden they had them. I think Abita is still getting rid of the last of its twist offs, or it was an older batch.
Re: Abita beer bottles????
I always have an opener because even the "twist" tops hurt my hands sometimes and I hate using my shirt LOL.!

LOL, Art! A crab knife is a handy little gadget, mine is made of stainless steel with a hefty handle for cracking claws and a sharp, stubby blade for getting into nooks and crannies for those last morsels of crabmeat.Schuarta wrote:Crab knife.

This one's from Casson's.

Another crab knife:

Another crab knife. I gave this one to the fabulous Furys.
Sorry to hijack an Abita post. Maybe we can open a post for specialized eating tools for our local cuisine? Admin?

Sorry, my pix was just an attempt at a little humor. The kind of knife you would use if you were in a "B" sci-fi film, fighting off the "attack of the killer crabs".
True, I have never held a "real" crab knife. Oyster knife, various fish knives - yes.

As John Wayne once said: "Life's tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid."
Re: Abita beer bottles????
It is a beer quality issue. I have been caught trying to twist off a top or two, but I'm good now.
