You can also hide your liquor of choice in one of those spray bottles that people use to spritz themselves with.

My bro in law wears a "Beer Belly" full of Rum punch.
www.thebeerbelly.com. I gave this to him for Christmas one year and it's been a lot of fun at Jazz Fest....of course then he has to lug it around all day, but it's worth it.

I personally, fill water bottles with vodka and glue the tops back on. ...and drink it with whatever is available. Usually lemonade.

Seems like I always get the soft shell craby po-boy...and once the liquor sets in, I get whatever has the shortest line. :covri:

Get some large ziplock freezer bags and fill it with your liquor of choosing.

Tape the bag to the underside of the seat part of the fold up type chairs.

Put the chair in the it's bag with the zip lock bag facing down.

Done successfully for years.
Last year they had us take our chairs completely out of the bags.....they caught people with beer etc in the legs and seats. I am surprised you got through. They were very gestapo.

I did a rapid-fire tasting of mine and others today -

crawfish enchilada - great item as usual
soft shell crab po-boy - I didn't care for it as much this year, batter change?
roast duck po-boy - this was pretty good, but I had to deduct points for too much juice making the otherwise great bread a soggy mess
mirliton seafood casserole - medium spice, but it kind of runs together after a while
jama-jama - sauteed spinach was OK
crawfish bread - I used to like this but this year it was just a big gunky mess with little crawfish and everything kinda got lost in gooey blandness
mango freeze - a cool(ing) tradition
my favorite this weekend was the cochon de lait po-boy- juicy without destroying the bread, intensely smoky flavor that I just loved
herbal tea - for hydration

missed some of my favorites, which I will get next weekend if I have time to return - crawfish sacks, jerk chicken and veggies, shrimp mache choux, jambalaya, shrimp and okra gumbo, want to try the stuff from Jamila's like merguez, cous-cous, steak pita from Bennachin

Boudin link - meaty, spicy, hot and delicious.
Vegetable roll from Ninja - cool down.
Meat pie & broc/cheese pie - I think I like the broc & cheese pie even more than the meat pie.
Nectar Snowball from the place formerly in Chalmette - not good. The ice is chunky, nothing like Plum St. or Hansen's.

TR-AJ's is the Snowball stand in question (at least it was AJ's last time I looked, like 10 years ago).

Group:

My food impressions from Sunday.

Shrimp, Okra and Sausage Gumbo from "Fireman Mike" was excellent. I may get it again.

Duck po-boy from "Electro Reps, Inc." was also really good. It was quite juicy but I like that. The flavor was good and the hot sauce, unlabeled, they offered added the needed kick. Try it if you like duck.

Shrimp and Sausage Maque Choux from the Houma Indians. Good as always.

White Chocolate Bread Pudding from Coffee Cottage. John Caluda is a really good pastry chef. Nuff said.

That's it for the first weekend. I'll probably get back the second one. More then. Have fun all.

Key lime tart is good. The little pecan pies they put out at the VIP reception area are really good. I think they're the same ones they sell near the Gentilly stage. Ribs and meaty white beans next to Lil Dizzy's stand have been good in prrevious years.

Hey Nikinik, I sent you a PM. Any help would be appreciated. If you don't want to do it, maybe Tiger Attorney will.
