What about stopping at your local Kinko's and see if they'll give you the tops to the paper boxes? They should be about 12" X 16" and are pretty sturdy.

Similarly, the cardboard trays in which six-pack drinks in cans are shipped to supermarkets. Line them with a section of newspaper to soak up moisture.

You are all civilized.....I don't think I can remember using a plate....we just pour them out on tables and graze.........LOL

The grocery case containers sound like a good idea. Need to get them before they smash them up for recycling.

I agree when you are doing a pot or two at a time, but if you are doing 500+ lbs, then dumping on the tables isn't always practical.

We usually dump them down the middle of the table also, but I always have "trays" for the dump not for the serving part. Makes it easier to dump when full then fill it up again.

Pictures is of our usual Easter Boil, not the one that I have coming up for the large crowd.

I picked up the trays today, they seem sturdy enough. Still think they are a bargain for $31.00 for 100. I also got the table covers so I don't have to lay out the newspaper for 10 tables that fit 8 at a table. These have elastic sides so I can just curl up and throw away.
