Cortazar's in Rivertown is closing

Post by EatinAintCheatin »

Ernesto Cortazar has decided to close his delicatessen by the end of the year. I'm not surprised. Poor business and a very slow staff turned people away. That's too bad. He did have one of the better Cuban sandwiches around. Now there's only Ms. Betty's coffee shop (Amour de Café) next door to Ernesto. She is the only low end lunch place left in Rivertown (except for the soul food joints). She has a few sandwiches, wraps and salads but her main focus is coffee. Unfortunately, she makes her money on the coffee, not on the food. And me and most of my workmates are not looking for coffee at lunchtime.

How unfortunate...I ate at Cortazar's a couple of times, and the food was tasty. Although it was nearly empty every time I went....I think the location is a hard one--insufficient through traffic in the area, i guess.
