I guess two weeks is too soon for a repeat visit, even if we are talking Middendorf's. 
Seriously, though, Mrs. Slow has been buggin' me to take her out there since they re-opened, and, as we arose late this a.m, missed breakfast altogether, and spent an hour at Dorignac's trying not to buy everything in sight, I relented.
We both opted to cut straight to the chase with identical orders of large fried thin catfish dinners. In short order, our platters were delivered, piled high with crispy catfish, atop fries, hushpuppies and slaw. The waitress asked if we needed anything else, and I requested some straws for the iced teas. As we started in on our feast, I noticed her, a minute later, emerging from the kitchen with a smaller platter-- which I assumed was destined for another table-- and two straws. She abruptly turned and sat all three on our table, in the process saying something like, "a few pieces fell on the floor...". On the plate were an additional half dozen thin fillets. My rule in such situations is, ask no questions, and I didn't break it here.
The catfish is as good or better than I ever remembered, and even the fries seemed superior, flavor-wise, to any I've had in a long time. Revisiting Jeeves' photos makes me realize we need to get back out there again soon for more than just the truly inimitable catfish.
As a matter of fact hubby brought me home some seafood gumbo from Middendorf's on Friday night. Glad you had a nice time.
