I haven't exactly been gorging myself on gourmet dining during my evacuation here in NW MS. I mean, these people who cling to guns and religion, aren't exactly waiting in line for hours for breakfast, drinking 4 dollar lattes, and half of them can't pronounce Arugula. Believe it or not these people are actual farmers and thus have no need for a farmer's market. Nonetheless, I am staying next to this beer and pizza joint named BoBo's. And f-ck me, if they don't make a damn good pizza. We brought it back to to the room and watched Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman kick some major ass.
Anyway, the pizza was a thin crust and very cheesey, we ordered a supreme and it had huge chunks of peppers, mushrooms, sausage and pepperoni. We washed it down with some canned Bud Light and then turned on the Dale Earnhardt marathon on ESPN Classic.

I wish I could say the same for the Pizza Hut in Quitman Miss we got stuck eating at after countless hours of contraflow. They were nice and all, but ugh, talk about a come down from Theo's or even Reginelli's. We are spoiled. One good thing about Mississippi is that there is good BBQ to be had though. Little Pigs in Picuyune was always a fave of ours and not too far out of the way.

I also ate at Jack Binion's Steakhouse one night as well. I generally dislike steakhouses, I particularly dislike casino steakhouses and more specifically loathe casino steakhouses in mid market casinos. The meal did nothing to prove my biases wrong.
But the pizza was actually better than anything I have ever had in NOLA.

Hey, Bamster! We're here in Ackerman, MS. If it weren't for my Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Deputy colleagues also staying here in the plush Ackerman Inn I'd be dry! We finally had to take a ride to Bulldog territory, Starkville, to load up on drinkin' likker! Ackerman ain't got a drop! What in hell is the matter with these people?
Fine dining? Next door to our retro-motel is Bumper's Drive-Inn. My favorite menu item is their gen-yoo-wine Nathan's Hot dogs. I had four yesterday (spaced appropriately approx. 2 to 3 hrs. apart). Not a freakin' po-boy in sight!

The plush retro-motel Ackerman Inn. I'm right at home, two Terrebonne Parish deputies and a Louisiana State Trooper are also holed up here.

Wish I could have seen the major ass kicking at the convention!
Edited to add:
Oh, and the Steamery in The Kiln had some major clean-up to do. Took on a hell of a surge on the river!
