The Adults Are In Charge
The State of Louisiana's approach to Gustav shows why one must always vote Republican regardless of the exoctism of the candidate. Nat Guard in town on Friday and an orderly, straightforward evacuation. Makes you womder what would have happened during Katrina had we elected Jindal in 2002.
Re: The Adults Are In Charge
It was funny during one of the press conferences when a reporter asked if the guard was going to be called in at any point and the answer was they are already here. (way to go Jindal)
Thanks a lot Blanco!! She should be ashamed of herself!

Hindsight is 20/20.

Kathleen Blanco is a nice lady. she just doesn't have the right "stuff" to be a good governor during trying times.

Hindsight is 20/20.That's why Nagin got reelected. Because he did such a bang-up job.

LOL, is it not the most hypocritical, to the point of funny, how Democrats get the 20-20 pass compared to Repubs. It is as if they think we don't even notice.

Re: The Adults Are In Charge
I have always contended that between Bush, Blanco and Nagin, Nagin was the least culpable of the three for the mess that was Katrina. He was always pretty adamant about the fact that when he spoke to Bush things got done. But when he called Blanco, it was like talking to a wall. Well, I thought Sugar Ray did a credible job during Gustav. I guess knowing the Governor has your back goes a long way toward curtailing the ranting and raving because you don't know if anyone is going to help.

Nagin did what Jindal told him he had to do. Nagin would have screwed this up again without Jindal. I agree that 20/20 played some part, but it was not the only reason things went more smoothly and worked the way they should have 3 years ago. I hold Blank-o responsible for major errors and down the line. She was a weak and ineffective leader who succumbed to politics rather than making good decisions. She should have hung around at the Lt. Gov and never run for Gov. She was a loser the minute she took office and I liked her as Lt. Gov.
