Anyone purchased any boiled crabs lately?
Re: Anyone purchased any boiled crabs lately?
I read this in the paper (TP) somewhere.
I think they are cute! Judi, I bet their mothers love them...AHHAHAA JJ
They are sweet and harmless. It's sad how they get hurt and killed by the boats.
Alex,
I was thinking of someone peeling them for me, and feeding me. AHHAHAAA

Judi, while there aren't exactly alot of them, there are manatees in the lake. We see them occasionally when fishing out at the mouth of Cane Bayou and Bayou LaCombe over on the Northshore. They were gone for years, but once the shell dredging in the lake stopped and the water cleared up a bit, they came right back in. They're kind of strange to watch-pretty much big black blobs with fins, but not afraid at all. They just kind of slowly bumble around.
Manatees in the lake
Be careful of the manatees in the lake

They are one of God's creatures that are so ugly they're adorable.

Re: Anyone purchased any boiled crabs lately?
boiled crabs at the Galley last night were $5.99 lb.; my two fat males were full of meat and cost $6.56.
boiled shrimp were $12.99 lb.; these were huge!
the crabmeat au gratin was full of jumbo lump and was priced as an entree for $16.99 (down from $20.99 earlier in the week); three of us shared it as an app with fresh, toasted french bread.
