Felipe's Habanero Salsa - WMD?

Post by DoctorB »

Felipe's off Claiborne is mostly just OK, but I like their salsa bar and always grab three or four little cups of the habanero salsa to spice up my burrito. ("Spice up my burrito" sounds vaguely obscene, but never mind.) On a visit there last week, the counter guys actually believed me for a change when I said "Muchos jalapenos," and consequently I didn't need as much of the salsa as usual. I've felt sick to my stomach for several days (no connection to Felipe's) and haven't felt up to using the leftover salsa on anything else, so the last container was just sitting in the fridge. Yesterday I noticed that it had actually eaten through the plastic and leaked out onto the refrigerator shelf. Now that's what I like in a hot sauce -- something that could be used as a weapon or part of an explosive device.

They have some nice milder sauces, too. But I do love my heat.
