LATE dinner options

Post by RouxTheDay »

I need a decent spot for dinner at 9:30(ish) on Friday.
As much as I love LaBoca, I can't imagine eating skirt steak at 10:00 at night. (especially since I have a marathon to run on Sunday)

Where would you go? I'll be coming from the Airport and ending up in Algiers so the location doesn't really matter.

Thanks.

Where I go every single time after I get off of a late plane.

Little Tokyo. Open late, fresh sushi. Very hydrating.
Mmmmm.

BTW, it's nothing to look at, but I do want to tell you about a little coffee shop on the WB that serves food.
Cafe Arabica across from Oakwood on Terry Pkway. It's the last bldg you see before getting on the on ramp to the bridge from Terry Pkway.
They close around 1am every day during the week & later on weekends.

It's nothing special in atmosphere whatsoever - it's a counter service coffee shop for goodness sakes! (order at the counter, they bring food to you).

But we have Mama in the kitchen cooking!!!
I just got back from there & had a delicious Grilled Veggie & Grilled Chicken Salad with special homemade lemon/olive oil/spices dressing add feta. It was delicious!
Very light & very tasty & satisfying!!
(Akram who works at night, will make this dressing specially for your salad. It is his creation, so if the other brother, MJ is working you won't get the house made dressing).

Several nights ago the special (which is absolutely NOT advertised) was stuffed mini eggplants & stuffed zucchini. Comes with tomato soup & rice.
Think of stuffed cabbage & it's like that. Mid East home cooking!
They are having it as the evening special again tomorrow & it comes with stuffed grape leaves tomorrow night.

Tonight's special was a whole Stuffed Cornish Hen.
Unfortunately, they sold out early.

They do a tremendous take out biz.

It's owned by 2 brothers. I'm fond of the younger brother, Akram.
At age 29 (his birthday is Wed), he really knows how to make his customers happy!

Cafe Arabica 504-263-3587.
