Mat and Naddie's Buffet Lunch
This place is so ridiculously close to my office, yet after two months in my new digs, I have yet to check it out. I decided since I am having an easy going week to have an easy going lunch here today. I went with my associate. It really is a pretty good deal. $10 for all you can eat. Today's buffet included a healthy amount of shrimp. Etouffee and bisque. I thought the etoufee was as good as any that I have had and I am not a huge etouffee fan. The shrimp bisque was pretty good, I think it was lacking a bit compared to the etouffee.
There was some rare roast beef sliced cold that you could use to make a sandwich. Rolls and condiments, etc as well as a shrimp salad, tuna salad and mandarin chicken salad as well as an onion tart.
Overall this deal is insane. I plan on making it at least a once a week stop. Highly recommended for lunch. I haven't been there for dinner in a really long time. (Maybe before the storm?) So I can't give a good opinion as to the meal.

Re: Mat and Naddie's Buffet Lunch
went to dinner there about a yr post-K, and it was all around a great meal. the wines were cooked, but they kept opening bottles until we found some that were drinkable. assume inventory is fine now. no reason for not going back, other than so many other places on the list. dinner was about $200 for 2 of us, but we did eat and drink quite a bit.
After Mon & Tues, even the calendar says W-T-F!

Thanks for the info. I found Mat and Naddie's pricey for dinner, but I loved the atmosphere (even the loud trains rolling by). I will definitely try this for lunch.

I've always thought this lunch was a simply good deal. I have a friend who works at the Uptown Square Campus & sometimes she gets called back to the office. So this place is perfect for lunch with her.
Service however leaves a lot to be desired.
So much so, that I refused to go back after the last visit.
That was last summer when I watched my waitress fawn all over
the two top across from me, making sure she bent over to reveal cleavage
to the two suits at that table as she brought them their check.

Note to self: Dress nicely when I go, look prosperous.

The horrible treatment I received there on my first visit led to my invitation to join the G.R.I.T.S. when TF commented that I probably got bad treatment because I didn't order wine. That still gets my Irish up to this day!Isabella Maja wrote:I've always thought this lunch was a simply good deal. I did go back twice and had good food but horribly slow service so I just quit going.
However, this buffet lunch might be ideal since I don't have to wait on them to service me. Might give them a try one day.

I always wondered what happened to Redbeans.Titchou wrote:But I do pride myself on being a harpy with you and my sister! Whatever happened to Redbeans????
IIRC, she might be pushing 80 by now, if not then at least 77.
I mean that in the most respectful way, btw.
I know you're not here Tichou, so not to exclude you . . .
Laura, I'll go with you to M & N's for lunch sometime.
Ya know, if she wanted to show cleavage for a good tip, that's her biz.
I don't condone it, but she was young & stupid.
But I tip well. She would have gotten just as good as a tip from me
had she not totally ignored me. She left me waiting for over 15 min & I was her only other table in the place.
Happy New Year, time to hit the party!
