Gordon Biersch

Post by LauraMc »

Gave myself an early birthday present. Had drinks with friends at The Sazerac. Place is fabulous, even better than I remember from my younger years.
I just poked my head in The Blue Room but it really threw me off. Not at all how I remember and much smaller.
Anyway, at dinner at Gordon Biersch on Friday evening and was delightfully surprised by their summer menu. They have a nice, light summer ale that I'd like to have bottled. I ordered cajun fish taco's. It was white, flaky fish with a remoulade sauce and a mango salsa in a blue corn tortilla and a soft taco wrapped around that. Mmmmmmmm. Reminded me of the fish tacos that SunRay had before they starting putting those crappy fried fish filets in their fish tacos.

I stopped in to get a to go beer last weekend and the place was packed with a line of people waiting. Have always liked the beer, but I have never eaten there.

They have an awesome spinach salad with red pepper jelly vinaigrette dressing, topped with goat cheese.
