I'd rather just stick with my favorite beer...but just never get it again at Barley Oak. It's $8 at The Alibi.
Mandeville lakefront eats
Re: Mandeville lakefront eats
The reason it might be so expensive at the Barley Oak is that the City of Mandeville made the owner (Nick) purchase the adjacent lot (to the north) for additional parking, which is absurd. there is ample parking along the laikefront. I think the Barley Oak actually has more parking in front than does Rip's. But again, there is ample parking along the lakefront.
Also, he has to close at midnight, and sometimes has to chase a crowd out of there. The city has done little to foster a good business environment for him.

Yeah, I agree. But I think the reason was that the Council wanted a place for the mayor (Eddie) to park in the back, so his Expedition wouldn't be spotted as easily as it would be parked along the lakefront (to the south), and they didn't want him in there all hours of the night, so they imposed a curfew.Turbodog wrote:The reason it might be so expensive at the Barley Oak is that the City of Mandeville made the owner (Nick) purchase the adjacent lot (to the north) for additional parking, which is absurd. there is ample parking along the laikefront.
