Trivento "Select" Malbec Mendoza 2007

Post by Low-N-Slow »

I was restocking the Torrontes from this vendor while it was still on sale, and noticed the signage mentioned a Malbec at the same price as well. Couldn't hurt to try a bottle, and it's yet another keeper. Low-end Malbecs sometimes display quite a bit of that South American bell pepper note, so I wasn't expecting too much. But I have to say this inexpensive red has a nice medium body, juicy red fruit, a pleasant acidity, some nice tight tannins, and a reasonably decent finish. $8 from Dorignac's thru some time in July, IIRC.

Do you perhaps mean the "Telefunken U47" microphone? Everything sounds better thru one of those-- like Zappa?

Musical genius filtered through a bizarre sense of humor is always more fun than the genius alone. If you are a red drinker, give it a try and let me know what you think.

Tried it and for the price, it is great. I also really like the La Linda Malbec 2007. IMHO, 2004 seems to have been the best year for Malbecs, but they are hard to find.
