2) Riccobono's
3) J'Anita's--if they would not stop serving breakfast before like 10:30.
4) Slim Goody's--despite my better judgment.
5) Garden's Edge

Any place I am missing?

If you go early enough to avoid the lines, have you tried the omelets at Camellia Grill? They seem about as good as pre 2005.

Also, on weekends only, Gott Gourmet makes a pretty good breakfast burrito.

Finally, if you want a bit of a splurge, Luke does a good breakfast even if it is a bit expensive.

I had breakfast at Riccobono's on Saturday. I love it there....nothing special to report but it's very good. I had the Virginia Dare omelet which had bacon, cheese and tomatoes, wheat toast, grits AND hash browns.(it was after a workout.) They used to have specials but I didn't see any-maybe I was too late.

I also like LaPeniche in the Marigny.
Clover Grill on Bourbon is always fun, too.

It seems like I always see interesting looking people at breakfast.

Funny how this city has never struck me as a good breakfast town. There are places to eat, but for some reason I just never got into the breakfast scene here.

Up in here in Riverbend, I would add the Oak St. Cafe to your list if only because their coffee is the best in town--along with Bayona. It's that good.

Freret St. Cafe, OK, outdoor atmosphere.

I'm a fan of Riccobono's, too. Good breakfast menu--eggs dishes being their strong suit. Their pre-fab biscuits, quick grits, average oatmeal, and a lack of fresh fruits and juices, are the only things stopping them from being the best in town. (Oops, that turned-out to be a pretty long list.) But it is a nice atmosphere with nice people.

Camelia Grill is off my radar.

People tell me it's Dante's Kitchen for Sunday Brunch--supposed to be great but we have never been, solely because Sunday's are not usually an activity day for us.

I love Russell's Marina Grill on west end.

They have a decadent eggs benedict version with a fried green tomato instead of candian bacon....

Great whole grain pancakes.....

My son is picky/quirky about restaurants and it's one he even likes...

A couple of quick thoughts:
The lines outside of places like Surrey's and Mother's warrants some ridicule, but the lines outside of Slim Goodie's defies description. Slim Goodie's is an effing joke, yet you have to shoot your way in there. Unbelievable.

The grits at Refuel are top notch, but Huevos beats them hands down.

The Oak Street Cafe is pretty good. But, frankly, I wish they'd dispense with the guy on the piano. Considering the small space and all the hard surfaces, the volume level is far too loud and distracting to be able to enjoy the meal.

Check out Coffea on Dauphine just before Piety/Desire. It's sort of reminiscent of the old Borsodi's on Freret.
