Self-indulgent drivel - on here you are a member of a community of foodies, and as such, we all share what we know. That you chose not to lowers your value to the collective group, in my estimation.bam bam wrote:Unlike the other members of the food media, I do not consider promotion to be part of my job. Did someone just throw a wet blanket over this thread? I, obviously, don't consider myself to be part of any kind of food media. I had no advance notice of the menu and only a day or two advance notice of the dinner. Did the people who went to the Asada dinner and fail to post their advance notice of it, lower their value to the group in your estimation?

Acts of omission vs acts of comission - you knew people would be interested, and yet you decided it was not your job to promote the event, even though you knew people on this site would be interested in participating.
I am assuming that others did not think about sharing the information. If they did as you did, and decided to keep it to themselves, then shame on them as well.

OH good grief. I went, (to the one at LaBoca), I had a great time. How dared I??
Well... why not, I mean ya'll are crucifying bambam on this, why not me? Or the other five in my party?
And, as a matter of fact, one in our party did post about the event well in advance, on several sites. All of which you people read.

Is it me or is it him? It's him, right?

was made firmly with tongue planted in cheek. I really don't remember when I made my reservations but it was a day or two before and I had no clue what menu was, so it never occurred to me to post any information about it.Unlike the other members of the food media, I do not consider promotion to be part of my job. I am going to Dino's to hang out with my lawyer friends, right now. Should I text you when I arrive?

paz, while I don't read and absorb everything in these forums - not even enough to really get a handle on all the different personalities, and certainly not the histories of everyone.... even I got what bambam was saying about being a critic, not a promoter....
Because we all know in another place during another time there was once a food 'critic' who was suspiciously ON THE TAKE, and shamelessly promoted the less than stellar spots, and wouldn't allow a whisper of criticism about them.
