Hey everyone,
I need some quick recommendations here: I have some potential business clients coming in town this weekend. Two are from Texas, the other two are from Wisconsin. They have expressed an interest in New Orleans food, so I'd like to impress them. We have reservations Saturday night for Clancy's for dinner together, but I need to give them a couple of recommendations for Friday night, when they will be responsible for dinner on their own. They are staying in the Warehouse District at the Ambassador Hotel. I want someplace that is going to be different from Clancy's, but still New Orleans. Any "idears"?
THANKS!

Easy choice, and old school: The Bon Ton Cafe
New Orleans and casual: Drago's
Boiled seafood and far: Galley
For just good in the area: Rio Mar, La Boca (good steaks in a different style).
Fancy: Cuvee, MiLa
That's without really getting into the Quarter.
And of course the classics: Galatoire's, Arnauds, etc.

a few random thoughts: Brigtsen's, Tommy's, Delmonico, August, La Petite Grocery, Lilette, Rio Mar (again), Irene's, Marigny Brasserie...

Cochon may be different from what they get at home. or they could belly up to the oyster bar at Luke's.
After Mon & Tues, even the calendar says W-T-F!

Did anyone think of Emeril's?

NOLA Grocery on Andrew Higgins Drive behind Cochon. Some really nice poboys, great breakfasts! Just axe Mrs. Fury!

I thought of it and dismissed it. It's kind of the "New Orleans experience" as broadcast to the country as opposed to the "true New Orleans experience". And don't get me wrong, I like Emeril's - I'm a fan (although I find his treatments a bit heavy at times). Food is good, great wine pairings, and I like the atmosphere. But that's not where I would send someone for a "New Orleans" experience.GuySajerForgottenSoldier wrote:Did anyone think of Emeril's?
