Cafe Atchafalaya

Post by Gourmondo »

Tried CA a couple more times after a very disappointing outing a few months ago in which it took over an hour to get an order out at dinner. About a month ago, I stopped for lunch and had the duck po-boy and it was quite good. This morning for brunch, I started with an expertly-mixed Bloody, followed by grillades and grits. The latter is a very large portion of this breakfast classic at $16. I would say it was very good. The meat was fairly tender and the sauce was really tasty. They used to have this dish in the "old" CA and I'd say this version is even better. Bread was a couple of smallish squares of cornbread, which was just so-so. Service was very cheerful and attentive.
