Dayride: Camp Moore and Tangipahoa Parish

Post by Jeeves »

Camp Moore was the largest Confederate training camp in Louisiana and the only Confederate training camp still open to the public. It is located on U. S. Highway 51 in Tangipahoa, LA. Me and Mrs. Fury took a ride up ol' Hiway 51 yesterday to see it.

We had a totally gorgeous day to make this trip and to explore beautiful Tangipahoa Parish.

Jeeves, I see you figured out the downward-pointing hand, the clouds around the wrist were a good clue. Also note the square and compass in the background of the relief.

Yes, I had a time with that one! Interpreting headstone symbols is a pretty interesting little diversion.
