The Village

Post by Turbodog »

429 Recors recetnly released a cd, titles "The Village". It is a bunch of songs form the 60's, at the height of the Greenwich Village. 5 or 6 Dyland covers, as well as some other great tunes. This is a fine record, highly recommended. Best Cuts are "Subterranean Homesick Blues", by Rickie Lee Jones, "It's Alright Ma, I'm only Bleeding", by the Duhks, "Positively 4th Strret" by Lucinda Williams and "He was a Friend of Mine" by John Oates.

Is it carried locally or do I have to buy online? I have not heard of that group but I like the artists you listed. Where do you recommend?

I ordered it through Barnes and Nobles. Took a few days. It is a very good disc. Good artists, good songs, what's not to like. I listened to it again today, all the way through.
