Chef Pete

Post by flyinbayou »

I got this off of Lorin Gaudin's food blog. It's Chef Pete Vazquez youtube channel, "The Anti Food Network". He resurfaces in these very homemade but instructional videos. The first one is an overview lasting about 2.5 minutes. While the video isn't great the audio is fine. You can click on the various videos on the right side of the screen. (I'm watching the 3rd oldest video on cooking beef heart, something I've never thought about trying and now I will.)

I've never seen him cook but I like his style.

He posted on TF's site this morning. He said he's coming back to New Orleans at the end of the month. It's the only place he is able to "fit in."

I think most would agree with that statement!:toast:

I love his videos! And I am thrilled he's coming back.

Personally, I can relate to N.O. being a place that most people can fit in without having to cramp their style. This is why so many people never leave, whether natives, or after visiting Jazz Fest or Mardi Gras.

I love to travel and enjoy other places, but REALLY, there's no place like NOLA!

Is he going to open another restaurant? What happened with his soldier for hire gig?

Was he the one who went off to D.C. to open some sort of bodyguard business - very weapons knowledgeable? Member name PeteV - last post 9/18/08? Posted frequently before he left on TOB.

And Post Katrina he had his renegade restaurant on wheels!
Trailing thru neighborhoods at first, feeding workers and then
guerilla gourmet @ Bacchanal.

If you have seen Treme - one of the last episodes - maybe #8?,
had the chef (who had to close her restaurant) doing a gig at Bacchanal.

Well guess where they got that idea from?

All I can say is get down on your knees now & say your prayers that Pete will return to New Orleans to be Chef Pete and not have a big deal security biz (which might actually do well here) in NOLA.

We NEED CHEF PETE to return!
I don't care who or what you pray too, just do it!
