OK I'm A Little Dense. Explain...

Post by Schuarta »

"Sticky:" at the start of a post title.
As John Wayne once said: "Life's tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid."

Means the topic (of special interest) stays "stuck" at the top of the forum list, regardless of other activity, and overriding any user-selected sorting options.

Who can apply the "Sticky" label? The author? Or just the Admin?

If everyone had the ability to so deem a topic important above others, we might have nothing but Stickies, so, currently, only admins have the permission.

I have a pet peeve with sticky...they seem to stay sticky even after the time has past that they no longer need to be sticky....I'm always glad when they get un-sticky

It would be great if there was a way to automatically un-stick stickies after a certain time period, or after they've received no replies for several days. But there isn't, so we just have to deal with them on a case-by-case basis.
