Adding photos to posts

Post by Schuarta »

Mr. Admin:

Time for a Website For Dummies lesson. I can't figure it out.

How do I use the photo posting system, used by many, where you have a wide box across the site, saying "Thumbnails", and you click on each pix you want to see to enlarge it?

Schuarta

(See: http://www.nolaeats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2267 seventh item.)
As John Wayne once said: "Life's tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid."

The system will create a thumbnail when an attached image exceeds a certain size, but is still under the allowable maximum dimensions. Note that this only applies to attached images, as opposed to images linked to from other webservers, image hosting services, etc. You can create a pseudo thumbnail for linked images using the [rimg] tag, rather than the [img] tag. A reduced-size image will appear in the post, and may be clicked on to enlarge it in a new browser window.

There is a limited amount of space for attached images allocated to a forum user's account, and the system will not allow the same photo to be uploaded more than once by the same user. Therefore, linking to images on other webservers (i.e. on those which you have permission to do so) remains the preferred way to include images in posts.
