Honey island swamp band is great too. If you like country at all, Country Fried is great. On the northsore you have Christian Serpas and Ghost Town and Pat Catanna (sp?) who was Invisible Cowboy. Man I miss those guys.

I have heard of less than 1/2 of the people mentioned here, and don't know one song from any of them. (And I'm ok with that)

I do love early jazz/ragtime especially Jellyroll Morton.

Krown, actually, but yes. He was Gatemouth's keyboardist.

Thanks! justagirl, I looked up his/their music and I really liked it.

I was born in the wrong era.

Turbo, most of the DJs list their playlists. Check the website and you can probably find it if you know around what time it was.

Suzy, you'd love Tom McDermott. He plays a very wide variety of music, jazz & ragtime being specialties. He was on Treme last night & heard it was great!

I've yet to see Treme. Where are y'all watching it?

Jesse, I love The James Rivers Movement, Tom McDermott & Evan Christopher, David Torkanowsky, and alotta older guys that blow horns.
I also loves me some Michael Skinkus!

I was just thinking the same thing and was coming over here to let Suzy know about Tom. Great minds and all.... :)
