Dutch Oven Bread?
Been doing some web research on baking bread in a cast iron dutch oven, mainly trying to get a feel for time, temp, and technique. Will be using a long-fermented no-knead dough. In the meantime, has anyone else tried it, and have any tips to help shorten the learning curve?

Re: Netflix Streaming?
I used to love all those old BBC comedy shows. The Two Ronnies, Mr. Bean, Are You Being Served?, To The Manor Born, Blackadder, Monty Python, of course. Good Neighbours might actually seem more contemporary than you would think-- it's about a guy who decides to go "off the grid", quits his...

Re: Netflix Streaming?
Cool. And, of course, seeing as how much Cox touts cable doesn't pixelate like satellite, we all know better. It ain't like there's a cable running from HBO to Cox in Elmwood. If it's less than that, it'll be fine. I'll be using it thru a Wii, and, like you, have had an issue occasionally with its u...

Re: Netflix Streaming?
Thanks. I'm sure that for only $9 a month, between the DVDs and the streaming, the service won't be a waste of money. I'm interested, however, to also hear some feedback regarding any "technical difficulties", like disrupted picture or out-of-synch audio. Occasional, minimal, no problemo?

Netflix Streaming?
Anyone here have Netflix, and use it to stream movies via Cox internet? And more specifically, wirelessly through a game console or other device? Pros, cons? The good, the bad, the ugly? TIA.

Katie Bar The Door?
Or, rather, "barred" the door. After hearing my barber rave about the oyster poboys at Koz's in Lakeview, we decided to give them a try Saturday, even though we were aware the likelihood of getting oysters period-- let alone superb ones-- was slim, given the oil spill situation. Then someo...

Lakeview Lunch Memories
I happened to be in Norco this past week around lunch time. The name Lovecchio's on a place on Apple Street struck a chord, as I recalled a deli of the same name on Harrison in Lakeview many years before, and I wondered if there might be a connection. A quick perusal of the menu confirmed my suspici...

Country Kid
Drake Dixon, aged 4 years here, appeared in the Randy Houser video for "Boots On", in which he rocked out to the song in the back seat of a car while Houser filled the gas tank. This home video purportedly precedes the music video. Drake's dad, Dillon, is a country songwriter, but not of e...
