Re: Tom Fitz the cheapass

The reason the buffoon is pushing and having so many eat clubs is because that is one of the ways he gets paid. I got that information from a very reliable source. TF denies that of course. How exacly is he paid? I know a chef/owner who hosted an eat club dinner and he did not pay Tom. Does TF incl...

Re: P & J's shucking last oysters today

Sigh... NEW ORLEANS — The pre-dawn shucking of small mountains of oysters that is an age-old workaday ritual in New Orleans is coming to an end at the 134-year-old P&J Oyster Co., because of the oil spilling ominously offshore. Barring an unforeseen reopening of the oyster beds that supply P&am...

Re: The "New" Creole Tomato

Thanks Mrs. F. I used to have a client who lived in LaPlace. She'd bring a sack of Ruston peaches each week when they were in season. Why is it that y'all have great little produce trucks & stands? Those are the only peaches hubby will eat. I have yet to see any but I have not been to all the s...

Re: The "New" Creole Tomato

Jeeves, that sandwich looks so good you have me drooling like Schuarta's dogs. Where is Paul's Cafe? Is it on the main street by the railroad tracks? Yes, it's right next to the gator and the country market. Get one of his famous strawberry daiquiris while you are there. You will probably be served...

None of that jell-o crap. I only eat the real stuff. I won't buy it but I'll eat it if you put it in front of me.

Ok, so tell me where you had the ugly ones. I want some!
You can get some next to Taco Bell in LaPlace on Airline. It's by the Home Depot. Don't tell anyone. :)

Re: any crabs around

Jeeves, that picture looks OMG good, where is Fenier, LA? Is it close enough for a day trip just for lunch? Take I-10 west. Get off at the first LaPlace exit. Go right for a mile maybe and make a right on Peavine Road. It's on the right at the lakefront. Get a snowball upstairs after your crab lunc...

Re: Screaming commercials

I listen to more radio than TV and find their commercial volumes to be even higher than that of TV commercials, especially car ads. But more annoying to me is one particular local voice-over lady that has the worst vocal quality of anyone I've heard. Best way I could describe it is as a creaky fals...
