A Mano
Group: I've had three good meals there. This place is on the list. My parents and friends went Saturday night. Since I'm too lazy at the moment to write up my own experiences. Here's the e-mail report I got from the parents. They liked it as well. Thanks! We had a great dinner too. There was a Tripe...

Re: Daniel's on the Bayou

This is what they posted on their Facebook page on January 11, 2010. Daniel's on the Bayou DANIEL'S ON THE BAYOU IS RELOCATING!!!! WE WANT TO...

Re: Mat and Naddie's Buffet Lunch
I went yesterday. I won't be going back. The less said the better. At least the cold cuts and rolls were good and the blue cheese dressing was good. The less said about the hot food the better. Terrible service also. One of the worst lunches recently.

Re: Mat and Naddie's Buffet Lunch
I think I'm going there today to try this again. I went once years ago and it was good. The web site says today is "lunch lady" meatloaf day. I like meatloaf. I'll put a report up here and on facebook when I return. If anyone wants to join, I should be there 12:15-12:30.

Re: Lunch at a Mano!
I made it their for lunch today. The 12$ lunch special is either soup of the day or salad of the day and a choice of the four sandwiches. I had the soup: Broth based with kale, farro, some meat and more veggies. It was very good. Then I had the sandwich called a 3P, prosciutto, pecorino and pepperon...

Group: I got it also. As I'm downtown, I'll be there probably Thursday to check it out. Report when I've had the chance to try it.

Re: American Sector
You must have caught them on a bad day. I've had one good and one pretty good meal there. It's not intended as anything cutting edge. Think a menu aimed at the vets in their 80s and their kids and grandkids and you've got the idea. I like it for what it is. I'll try it a third time, especially with ...

Re: American Sector
What was wrong with the Chicken Fried Steak? Since it was "not CFS by any definition I know", how was it fixed? The meat is rolled up. It's then cooked long, wet and slow. Once it's done. the rolled up meat is fried in rolled up form. It's then sliced on the bias into medalions and served...

Re: American Sector
I went with my dad. It was good. He had the "Sicilian," served hot or cold. He had it hot. It's their riff on a muff. sandwich. It had a lot of artichoke hearts on it. He said it was good and that they are using first class cold cuts. I started with the tomato soup, served over a bit of pe...
Coquette
It's lunch at Coquette today with three friends. From the menu, I think there are roasted oysters and sweetbreads in my future. Any other ideas? I'll post a report later.
