The space is lovely, the view terrific, the food 5 out of 10. Unfortuanately, the menu reads better than it tastes. Three of us ordered 4 apps and 3 entrees (2 were the same since the snapper sounded great...both left at least 1/2). The other entree was the meat paella...not made to order but appear...

Ciro's blue cheese grilled oysters are delicious. Lasagna and pizza (for NOLA)are good as well. ---------- Post added at 10:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 AM ---------- Laura, omit the hoisin in the marinade but use it in the sauce. Re: Let's talk about food.
My son and friend dined there this week. Said friend works at Rlaph's and they get a substantial dining discount. When I asked how dinner was, he replied, "I'd have been really pissed if we paid full price for the food we had". Their dinner for 2 was $260, (food/drinks/wine) prediscount. F...

Re: Let's talk about food.
We are making a concerted effort to stay out of restaurants. Why? We're attending a wedding at the Jersey shore next month with lots of family we haven't seen in awhile and I'd prefer to stay in my "skinny" clothes. Vanity can be a powerful motivator. I have no will power in restaurants. S...

Re: So what is your specialty?
I had one at Delmonico awhile ago. No big deal. My specialty, elegant cakes that look like they came out of a magazine. My sons' schools and junior auxillary used to auction them. These days I'm usually not as ambitious although, I still won't serve a dessert (even for just husb. and self), unless a...

Re: already feeling the effects of the spill
Luke's non happy hour price is $13 dzn. All he did was discontinue the happy hour special. As for Cooter's, my oysters were usually dirty with bits of shell. I don't care how cheap they are, I want a good "shuck".... don't we all?

already feeling the effects of the spill
Went to Luke for happy hour Sunday. The waiter informed us drinks were still 1/2 price but due to the situation,, 25 cents oysters has been suspended. They are now $13 a dozen. Just happy to get some while I can.
