Re: Miami Cuban Food

Can't help you with food in south beach, but I like El Rey de Las Fritas, also on Calle Ocho. Imagine a Cuban Camellia Grill....counters, booths, fruit milkshakes, and the frita, a spiced burger topped with fried onions and matchstick fried potatoes. http://reydelasfritas.com/ El Rey has cuban sand...

Re: Another Fat Hen Grill?

The Dickory location has more of a white tablecloth atmosphere. It doesn't really fit with the original theme of Fat Hen. I wonder if he plans on renovating the space to the 50's diner style? Rumor has it he gave his wife a whole bunch of money to redecorate the place and it will open when she's fi...

Re: Mexican coke

I've seen the Mexican Coke at Sam's. You can buy it by the case in 12 oz. bottles. And yes, it has sugar instead of HFCS. I haven't tried it, but I suppose it might be worth buying some.

Re: Breakfast around Wms/W. Esplanade??

There's nothing near Power & West Esplanade (excluding Rouses breakfast bar, yikes!). Near Williams and West Esplanade, you will be locked into what you can get from coffee shops and fast food.
(There's always IHOP!)

Re: New Breakfast and lunch crepe place in J'Anita's old spot

Did a little bit of sleuthing. My best guess is that fsk13/gotham/shaftnjc is Farah Kassam. Ms. Kassam, care to emerge from the shadows? Easily got you phone number too, but I wouldn't post it.

Re: Saki Sushi on Williams?

This place has the same name as the restaurant that opened 3 blocks further towards I-10 in the location of the pre-K Little Tokyo sushi buffet (3200 blk Williams). I haven't driven past it to see if it is in fact the same place, only moved down the street. I can say that I went to that location sho...

I simply ADORE Herdez products! :toast:
I like to pour the Herdez salsa verde over burritos, top them with jack cheese and then broil them. It makes a nice fast green burrito.

Salsa verde 1 28oz. can tomatillos, drained and roughly chopped 2 medium onions, diced 6 teaspoons minced garlic 5 large fresh jalapeno peppers, roasted, peeled and diced (seeds optional) 1 large gree...

Re: I think I'm p***ed!

With all of the low cost, high quality locally farmed catfish, this seems insane. It's even more insane considering all of the great wild caught local fish available in that area. I guess it is all about $$$. They're hoping most patrons aren't like you and won't bother asking what they're eating.
