Re: Brett Anderson reports Gerard Crozier has died
We were fairly regular customers when Crozier's was in Metairie, mostly for lunch. Everything was always perfect from the appetizers to the dessert. I really miss that quirky little "pink" sauce he used to serve with shrimp or crabmeat. I had a hard time deciding between the coq au vin and...

LSU...I'm confused.
Which is it and more importantly, what is preferred?
LSU Fighting Tigers OR Bayou Bengals?
Nationally, all I'm hearing is Bayou Bengals from the broadcasters. What's correct?

Re: Acme on Iberville
Same here. The miasma of frying grease when you go into Acme kills the flavor of the raw to me. I always go to Felix's for raw but you have to stand at the bar to get the fresh, just shucked oysters. And I only go to Galatoire's for consistantly fried seafood. If there is another good fried place in...

Re: Portland, Oregon Food?
Heck, the reason they don't care for food is they all are always juiced on coffee all day long. I swear you can't go 1/2 block without a coffee shop. We walked all over downtown, Pearl District, Riverfront and Chinatown and nothing looked bad to me. Alot of Portlanders do (for lunch) the small mom a...

Re: Portland, Oregon Food?
Was there in August. The Heathman Restaurant in the Heathman Hotel (on Broadway, downtown) was exceptionally good with lots of seafood. And Higgen's Restaurant 2 blocks away, still on Broadway is known for "Oregonian" cuisine..whatever that means. They had some killer cured meats. Both are...

Re: Chad's Bistro
We went there for lunch after Christmas shopping last year. Must have been the same waiter. And the same occurance: no one at the door, no one in the restaurant, a wait for menus and the offer to get us some yummy dip or calamari. Creepy? Well, yes. Did we leave? No. Scanned the menu and from what I...
