Re: Alternate to Dick and Jenny's

If you want a trendier spot then definitely check out Bouligny Tavern. Very cool interior with great tapas style food. Fun for that sized crowd. Especially great if you are going out afterwards. It is associated with Lillette next door.

Re: Turbodog Re: SOS Beer

Just grabbed an SOS from Rouses on Carrollton, $3.99. Sipping it while I "work from home." Very nice. It does not have the bite of some of the Abita beers but has a nice mellow nuttiness. Fills a good niche in their line up. I'll be getting some more.

Re: Poor Boy Festival to Move to Palmer Park Amid Controversy

Go ahead and keep it on Oak, but I won't be going if they do. WAY too crowded. I might actually go back if its in Palmer Park.

Re: OK NOLA Residents, Whatya Do?

Arrived in South Beach Saturday night in our Prius rental, dubbed the "Who Dat Hybrid." Ate some good Cuban food at Puerto Sagua (thanks Board for the rec!) then took in the scene on Ocean Drive. Ended the evening on the balcony of our hotel with a bottle of wine, watching the tricked out ...

Re: Lunch at a Mano!

I went today and had the Insalata di Mare (very nice, big potato slices were unexpected but good) and Buccatini pasta (excellent and went great with a glass of Primitivo). I want to go again soon and try the sandwiches and meats. Snagged a menu to entice the wifey to a dinner.

Re: What are you cooking for Tgiving?

I start with the Turkey Day Race as well, which is a great way to get out of the house and avoid being pressed into sous chef duty. A few beers at the post-race party, then to in-law's for a whole bunch of goodies that, again, I don't have to cook. My contribution is the wine: this year a Domaine Wa...
