Re: K-Paul's black muffins
I saw this thread and knew that a pal of mine (Chef Mary Sonnier) who not only worked for Chef Paul, but made those Black Muffins, often, would be able to help. Here's what she suggests: "There are a few tips for that muffin that are important. The water has too be hot to loosen up the molasses...

Re: Hey Lorin...
Podcasts are up and running at http://www.wistradio.com (tool bar on the left), as is streaming. I'm not lovin' the Mancow all the time either, but he is highly rated and has a pretty serious listening audience across the country (much to my surprise). That said, everyone at WIST has commented to ou...

Re: Restaurant that you don't like that everyone else loves
How is it that so many people can be so wrong about various restaurants? I don't think anyone is WRONG, taste is subjective. By the way, Antoine's is one of the restaurant Grande Dames like Galatoire's, Arnaud's Court of Two Sisters, Commander's, Brennan's, etc. as much for its impact on the culina...
Re: Gimchi
I will rag on Stein's again! We ain't going back. The hot pastrami sandwich was a joke and very overpriced. Booo Stein's. Attack away if needed. Why would anyone attack you? You're entitled to your opinion. How sad that you have to anticipate being attacked. Are you mad that I don't like Gimchi, (t...

Re: Gimchi
Lorin, Does Korea House do Korean barbecue--where you cook the marinated meat and/or seafood at your table? We had the Korean barbecue at Gimchi right after it opened, but it was just so so. They were also very skimpy on the kimchi. It would be great to have good Korean barbecue in New Orleans, but...
