Tapas Crawl Wednesday 28th

Xavier Laurentino is hosting a Tapas Crawl in the Riverbend area this evening 6 PM to 9 PM. Participating restaurants include Barcelona Tapas, Brigsten's, Dante's Kitchen, One, and others. $5 gets you a tapa and a small wine. Looks like a good time. Re: Northern New England and Quebec

In Montreal, check out Le Petite Extra. It's a local's spot, mostly unknown to tourists. When we walked in, they kept asking "How did you find out about us?" It was terrific. Classy, yet casual. I had a braised rabbit in blueberry reduction I'm still dreaming about. Granted, this was many ...

Re: "Tom Fitzmorris=Dining Methuselah"--Article on Tom and Vietnamese Cooking

I read a post on Tom's site that she started getting flak on her blog for her article's inflammatory tone. Lorin being Lorin, she then locked down the comments section once the tide started turning against her. This appears to be the case, although you can still read some snippets of the comments. &...

Re: "Catch" to open on Magazine

While I agree with her beef about restauranteurs' preoccupation with "concepts" over quality and execution, I see Lorin hasn't lost any of that cattiness that I've found so unpleasant. There seems to be a fundamental mean-spiritedness that runs through so much of her writings. This constan...

Re: The Three Muses

If it's where I'm thinking of, that particular location has been closed for as long as I can remember. This could turn into something big.

I'm a diehard Frenchman Street rat. I'll make a point to drop in and report back. After six months, of course.

Re: Sharper to visit Jaguars

I don't know the situation at Jax, but I see Jones trying to sign Sharper to a ridiculous contract just to damage our chances in 2010.

Arrogant pr!cks with big money. Always dangerous, unless you happen to have more money.

$5 a can. But if you're a real connoisseur, you can get a can of Foster's for $6. Or you can drink ice cold bottles of Stone Levitation, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Abita Strawberry, and LA 31 Pale. I prefer the latter. And I voted for Obama.

Re: Is the Steve Zahn character on Treme...

Do you know Henry, BCS? Davis' red-headed lion-maned friend? I wonder if they're going to incorporate him more into future episodes. He's as much of a music scenester as Davis is. On the whole, I thought it was slightly painful to watch, like they were trying a little too hard to get it right. Some...
