New Metairie Restaurant

New restaurant space taking shape next to Dorignac's (eastern/New Orleans side), looks Middle Eastern based on the Moorish facade. Sign says Cyrus Restaurant. Doesn't appear open yet. Anyone know anything about it yet?

Liberty's Kitchen

So on jury duty today, only one group of folks was called to a court, so all the rest of us were dismissed en masse around 12:15. That means, if you park in the validated lot at Gravier and Broad, it will take you at least 30 min. just to exit the lot. Rather than bake in the queue, I decided to sco...

American Sector

Three of us dined here for lunch today. I hadn't eaten there since opening night, scared away by negative reports. We were all pleasantly surprised. We sat outside and it was very pleasant. The crabmeat ravigote is a keeper, with a very light cream sauce, dill and this really tasty bacon they get fr...

Re: time to ditch DSL?

So, made the switch today (installs at 9 AM Sunday - this I liked) and so far so good with the cable modem. Getting around an average of 12.5 on the download compared with 3.5 with DSL (was paying for 6). We'll see how it all pans out over time.

Re: Clementine's

Since we aren't West Bankers, I am not in a habit of thinking about this place, but every time we've been we've really enjoyed it. That they've made it this long is a testament to the quality of what they do, because the location sucks big-time. Remember Willy Coln's? Glad you mentioned them 'cause ...

champions square

Can someone clarify for me - can you watch a broadcast of the game in Champions Square while the game is underway or do they not do that? I've heard two different things on this.

Re: time to ditch DSL?

I am told U-verse is unavailable for me at this point, so I am inclined to roll the dice on Cox. I am aware of all the horror stories, but actually their cable connection is very reliable for me, much more so than the ATT Internet. If the U-verse option becomes available later, I'll take a look at i...

Thanks for the tips, I'll check out the U-verse availability and mull over my options.
