Vistors in town, need suggestions!

Hey everyone, I need some quick recommendations here: I have some potential business clients coming in town this weekend. Two are from Texas, the other two are from Wisconsin. They have expressed an interest in New Orleans food, so I'd like to impress them. We have reservations Saturday night for Cl...

Re: Boucherie

I had a great meal as well 2 weeks ago, I had the grilled caeser salad - smoky and wonderful, as well as the pork cake. I thought the cake was tasty, but a little dry, and now I am sorry I didn't add a little pepper vinegar to the cake, I think that would have helped. There were some wine salespeopl...

Re: Feedback - call, email, snail mail?

I received a letter from Commander's Palace Friday, answering my complaint from October. The text of the letter, signed by Robin Bordelon, Maitre'D, follows: Let me start by saying thank you for dining with us on Saturday, October 4,2008 for your wedding anniversary. Re: Feedback - call, email, snail mail?

My mother had an incident there where she was over billed. Needless to say, she does not patronize that establishment anymore. This happened about a year ...

Re: Feedback - call, email, snail mail?

I'm still waiting for Commander's Palace to answer my letter I sent them on October 21. I sent a letter to the general manager and CC'd Lally Brennan. As of today, I have not heard anything back from them...

Re: I'm Smoking... a Brisket!

Thank you, everyone, for all your advice! The brisket and pork loin came out FANTASTIC! The brine obviously made the pork very juicy and tender, and I would never smoke it again without the brine. The brisket was not as juicy but still delicious, very fatty but some people really enjoyed the fat, it...

Re: La Petite Grocery

Gosh, there was a lot of food there! How did you finish it all?!?

I've had that "Gratin of Blue Crab baked in brie cream", it was delicious.

Thanks for sharing, Bear! :)
