4th of July

Post by kcdixiecat »

So, what is everyone doing for the 4th of July? Anything exciting?

Doug's fraternity brother from Kansas State University is coming to visit. I figure that I'll end up having to bail them out of jail somewhere. We're going to do the usual cookout and probably go find some fireworks to watch. Where are the best ones?

As for my neighbors..they've been celebrating since the Super Bowl win..I could sit on my patio and listen to their firecrackers and not have to put up with the crowds. Hmmm not a bad idea.

Hey Trish-

Not necessarily for this weekend, but you might enjoy getting a weekly email from these guys:

They list some fun ideas every once and awhile.

I'm heading to Dallas for my friends' neighborhood block party and to razz some of their Cowboy neighbors :D

Downtown New Orleans has Go 4th on the river with dueling barges of fireworks.

Lafreniere Park has Uncle Sam Jam with bands and fireworks after sunset. http://www.lafrenierepark.org/activitie ... Events.asp

The Treasure Chest casino used to have a fireworks show. Not sure anymore.

There might be others that I am missing.

SH*TFIRE! I'm gonna miss it. Will be over 300 miles away from all of that fun- shooting off fireworks in Panama City Beach with out of town friends.

I'm flying out of middle America heading to Maine for the weekend. I predict it will be perfect :)

Will they have one of those good ol' Hometown America 4th of July parades with the fire trucks, police cruisers, school bands, bagpipes, etc?

Bring me back a lobster bib, I keep squirting BBQ crab juice on my shirts at Louie's Crab Trap! :)
