Wine Tasting help

Post by Cocktailtime »

I am hosting a wine tasting for about 12 people. I "won" it at an auction. The person putting it on is providing the wine and all the info etc... it will be sort of a cocktail party setting. I need to have enough glasses to change every so often. I also want to do heavy app/noshy food. I am looking for a place to rent nice wine glasses and also wonder could I just work with Whole Foods to work up some apps? Any other suggestions?

Any place that rents stuff for weddings would probably have wine glasses. Just googling, I found http://www.neworleanspartyrentals.com. And I can't think of the name of it but that huge event planning place in Elmwood used to rent china, glasses & flatware. It's the next block after Elmwood Storage. For my wedding, we used Perrier Party rental. I didn't have to do glassware though. Their website shows different types of wine glasses. Their prices were very reasonable for chairs and tables. http://www.perrierpartyrentals.com/

Contact Jason over at City Diner. He just may be the answer to your catering needs.

I'd go with a good local caterer before Whole Foods -- the prices will probably be comparable (if not better) with a local caterer. I also think the caterer will be more helpful in pairing the appetizer menu with the wine you're tasting.

Wish I knew of some good caterers, but I'm new to town. I'm sure people here can offer up suggestions...

Call Martin Wine Cellar. They have plenty of glasses to rent.

the food situation would be solved with Martin's as well....cheeses alone would be worth doing business with them.
