I wish I had the adjectives in my tired brain to tell you how annoying Bam at Rouse's buying a King Cake can be...but alas, I don't.

I must say I've been quite impressed by them. They're very good. Def not the typical grocery store bakery stuff!

Rouse's has great cakes. I am picking one up from Sucre today because someone raved about them, so we'll see. Also, I saw some Swiss Bakery King Cakes at CVS on Prytania that looked awesome. I regret not grabbing one.

I've had the Rouse and Swiss Confectionery. They are good but they all taste like a big cinnamon roll.... to me anyway.
I like kids. They taste like chicken.

It's where the old Lawrence's Bakery (Mr Wedding Cake) used to be on the corner of Elysian Fields and Filmore, next to the Tea Garden Chinese restaurant in Gentilly.

Haven't had their king cake, but the bakery items were nice the 2 or 3 times I went there. They also have lunch specials....

FYI, called to see what flavors they have, and they only have plain until 5, when they are expecting more (they are open till 6:30pm)
