You have LOTS of great suggestions, and certainly a very spirited time to visit the city!

(I think Mr B's is mediocre at best) as mentioned Mandina's true New Orleans cuisine and casual, Galatoire's classic New Orleans at it's best.

I may be repeating some, didn't read all the suggestions:

Bon Ton excellent cajun food in the Natchez building ( 1840)

Monteleone Hotel (Carousel Lounge and beautiful historic architecture):

Roosevelt Hotel (Doemnica, The Sazerac Bar, stunning renovation a true original)

Au contraire! You dumped her for the month of February to get around participating in Valentine's Day festivities - remember?

RouxThe Day, please remember that I am not from New Orleans, not even Lousiana, so am ignorant of Mardi Gras culture. So, what is Lundi Gras? And, when is the costume contest in the Quarter? I think I would love this!
Thanks to all who have replied! I am so looking forward to coming to NO. There is a great group of people on this forum!

He meant "get crunk", a contraction of "crazy drunk". Alternate definitions at http://www.urbandictionary.com.

The 46th Annual Bourbon Street Awards Show, the ultimate costume contest, is set for Mardi Gras Day, February 16, 2010 at 12noon. On the corner of Burgundy and St. Ann outside of Rawhide.
