I had a problem with Amazon over the weekend. Must have been a last minute "glitch" that would not let me send a gift to an address other than my own billing spot! Maddening! It's all cleared up now.

Jerry's store is one of the few stores I actually make the effort to go to. I've had three weddings to go to this year and all of the gifts came from his store. It's a great place to buy gifts for people out of town too or to find things for yourself...like my cool Saints purse, my game day shoes, ect....It's a great store. Jerry has even been so awesome as to have a gift wrapped and ready for me to pick up when I'm short on time. It's great having a fun boutique with a little bit of everything.

I agree with Jerry and try to give back to the local merchants. However, there are some things that I cannot find (audiobooks) locally and will buy online. In the past, Amazon was pretty bad about standing by their (ie their merchants') shipping schedule and I've been left empty handed until after Christmas.
They seem to have improved in this area.

I'm very much for supporting local businesses.
It doesn't have to be hard or time consuming.

To give as gifts, I got 5 gift certificates for massages &
5 gift certificates for a new local restaurant - Banana Blossom.
Knowing I was supporting local businesses was a wonderful feeling.

I have 2 more presents to get.
I'm going to go to Jerry's Place or buy a couple of Expatorleanian's cookbook!
Perhaps both!
