Don't know if it's been on WWOZ or elsewhere, but Willy DeVille died about a week ago of cancer....unbelievably sad news. Truely one of the unsung heros of music. Le Chat Bleu is a fantiatic album. Savoie Faire being my favorite song on it. And Victory Mixture is a must of old New Orleans songs, with an allstar cast of session players. The really sad part is he was about to tour in the States . I know he was to play New York in December. Was hoping for New Orleans. I always griped about him never playing J-fest, now it will never get to happen.......R.I.P.
