Someone asked me to find the title of a western movie from the late 70's or early 80's. The movie is about a woman who goes out West and takes over her father's printing business or newspaper business and the townspeople give her lots of trouble because she is a woman. Any ideas?

This sounds like such a common theme that there are probably hundreds of movies that fit the description.

I know nothing else about the movie.

I seem to remember that movie......was John Wayne in that movie??? The woman was a blonde lady....or I could be getting an episode of Gun Smoke mixed up with it.

I remember a western:

Father has paper with old press.
Town has corrupt mayor and sheriff.
Father murdered.
Daughter comes.
Takes over paper.
Fights town officials with paper.
Gets press wrecked by bad guys.
Eventually wins with the help of heroic male figure (Wayne?).
Gets new press from back east.
Lives happily ever after in cleaned up town.

It's hazy but that's what I remember.

Thanks! That sounds like it. If they could give us a hint on even one actor that appears in the movie, that would probably seal up the title........................

yeah that was the one I was thinking about......I would say it would be Gene Autry or John Wayne........ya think???

Supposedly the movie was done in the 80's, though it may have been done during the 70's. John Wayne died in '79 and his last movie was The Shootist. Keep thinking. As has been pointed out, the theme is not super original.
