Oktoberfest in Germany starts 9/18. It is not too early to plan for a road trip to the best German food in town these days. Last year I had the Schwäbischer Hochzeitsbraten - fantastisch! Don't worry, you can still order off the regular menu if you gots to have your catfish, etc.


Oktober 6 & 7
Schlachtplatte: Kassler, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln 15.25
Smoked Pork Loin, Pork Sausage, Sauerkraut & Roasted Potatoes

Oh man, I thought it was the OBAMA-Fest menu. I was going to order more than I planned on eating and let the guy at the next table over pay for it.

Ha, different menu, JAG. Nothing official leaked from the Xavier kitchen folks yet, but look for these favorites:

ACORN soup
Small (and getting smaller) plates of whatever crumbs are left over
Govt. deconstructed
Red state pound of flesh (very lean) from Muslim halal butcher
Tarte "Constitution" flambeé
King Barry Cake (w/ politically correct doll inside)
