Fatzo's Board

Post by bam bam »

Well, the most interesting, longest running, most active food message board has been hit with a hacker attack. I am thinking it was the North Koreans.

Not to get contentious, but it was his newsletter site, not his board that apparently was hacked.

Running on Firefox, when I tried to access the newsletter site, the browser alerted that there were problems and blocked the site from loading further.

FWIW, he mentioned this in his e-mailed newsletter, but still included links to the site...

Which isn't to say that this:

"New Orleans' Most Active Food Messageboard

Live since 1996, the city's most interesting commentary about its unique food and drink culture. Edited by the dean of American restaurant critics."

Isn't total BS (or puffery some might say...)

Thanks for the heads up. I will pay attention when opening his newsletter. Yes, I know, I get it.

Wouldn't you know, the one night I take a look, I come away with a spyware infection on my laptop (fortunately, quarantined by my virus protection).

Last time I visit his board. I should have known better.

I guess someone paid whatever they thought it was worth.....

I would say both BS and puffery.

It is BS because he has bestowed the crown of "dean" upon himself. And it is puffery, as this is the first case I've known where one blows smoke up one's own azz.

Oh... the "Russians" did it.
