It's a synthesizer/sequencer. Activate one or more blocks in columns from left to right. You can deactivate a block by clicking on it again if you don't like how it changed the pattern. Once it gets going, it's kind of hypnotic. Even randomly clicking on a bunch of blocks produces something musical. Press spacebar to clear and start over. If you make something you like, right click and Copy, then Paste into a new text file for pasting back later into the application. Diagonal lines of blocks make interesting sounding figures.

Highlight, copy, and paste to the grid. I can't seem to get rid of the space in the middle, but if you paste it elsewhere first and remove it, it should work.
