Treme

Not sure if any of you are watching it. I agreed with those that said the first episode started off too slowly. I guess that was to be expected with all of the hype leading up to the premier.
With that said, I think it is really coming into its own and I look forward to it every week. I didn't have much love at first for the Davis character but now I find him cracking me up. He and Creighton have some of the better lines in the show.
This line from last night's show had the whole room laughing:

"I don't care if you're gay... Cosmically speaking, the more cocks that get sucked in the world, the better for all of humanity,"

Still makes me laugh.
His other zinger was near the end when he sits down to give a bartered piano lesson and tells his student:

"Forget everything you need to know about Jesus, Buddha, Allah, because there is only one God, and his name is Professor Longhair."

The one thing that bothers me, and I could be wrong, is that they use the word "carnival" instead of saying "Mardi Gras". I rarely ever hear the word carnival used by locals.
Other than that, I think they get it mostly right.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
