"Taking Chance"

Post by flyinbayou »

I saw this movie when it first came out a few months ago. HBO has been replaying it over the week, presumably because it is the perfect Memorial Day weekend movie. If you haven't seen this HBO produced film I highly recommend it. Based on a true story it is non-political in nature and is as powerful as it is simple.
I think it will play on HBO tomorrow night.

I 3rd the rec, I served on a detail like that for a soldier from Houma in 1969 before I went to Viet Nam. It was a detail I signed on for to get out of KP duty, that turned out to be one of the more heart-rending events of my young life. The movie is well done and not at all political, it shines light on the sacrifices made by the whole families of these fallen soldiers.
