New Freret St openings

Noticed post on another food board about some new restaurant openings this spring on Freret St. I may have missed this earlier, but it was the first I had heard of them, and they do sound interesting.


Dat Dog: Gourmet hot dogs

High Hat: Adolfo Garcia: Southern food similar to what you find in the MS Delta

Fico: Adolfo Garcia: authentic Neopolitan style pies, the oven is being built in Naples now

No mention of locations was made.

Dat Dog is set for opening- awaiting fire department today
looks great- so many varieties NOY your ordinary dog!

Tentatively scheduled for next Wednesday 2/16/2011=still waiting for fire dept clearance

hours Sun-Thur 11-9;Fri - Sat 11-midnite

Polish Kielbasa, Slovenian sausage,German smoked Bratwurst, LA hot sausage, Alligator sausage, Crawfish sausage $6

Dat Dog is now open. $5 for dogs, $6 for sausages, various, toppings are NOT extra. I'll be trying this one very soon.
