Yep. Someone called Tom's show and said they were open as of tonight.

I have a year old $50 gift certificate for the New City Grille....will it be honored at the new place?

Jerry, they would not likely honor the gift certificate. This restaurant is a brand new restaurant that is occupying a building that another restaurant once occupied. They are not affiliated at all.

To be fair the chef and manager from the old restaurant are apparantly owners of this new place so there is a little overlap.
I still don't think they would honor a New City Grille gift certificate though.

As I did notice the "overlap", I'll wait for a reply from the "new" owners on the gift certificate question....
If they don't honor it, would it not be a financial liability of the previous owners as it was a $50 investment they enjoyed that was never compensated for.

I would not realistically expect the former employees of NCG (or of any other business, for that matter) to honor its gift certificates, except perhaps in an extremely magnanimous display of goodwill.

No, I guess something like that is not to be expected in today's business world.

I may have used the GC had I known the old restaurant was going to be closing....was their some notice?
They were always closed on our only day off - Sunday.

Bear, when's the last time you ate there? They look like they've been closed for the past few weeks.
