Tom's board is gone.

Post by Schuarta »

Tom has shut down his board. Is it time now to re-energize this site? :toast:

I have decided to shut down the board. I no longer have the time to monitor it in a
way that it requires. Thanks to everyone for their contributions over the years. You
may write me at news@nomenu.com. Tastefully yours, Tom Fitzmorris.

Hello OYSTER. How is life treating you. Miss your comments and your love for oysters. Just finished my annual efforts with the Reno-Sparks Friends Of NRA big Banquet/Fund-Raiser. Over 100 prizes including 66 firearms.

Re NOLA - I will return - someday. :toast:

Even "the other board" is relatively slow right now. Maybe we can breathe some life back into this one. I'm seeing a lot of spam on the other site which was one of the main reasons everyone left to begin with, IMHO.

Life is good Art! Hope you scored on a few of those door prizes...
Not too much to talk about on the oyster dishes right now, but the softshell crabs were real nice today for lunch! Great sandwich.

Dilfan, there is a tremendous amount of strange/spam post on "that other board." Seems to come from all corners of the world. Not too much volume there either.

Should be some traffic here soon, I would think.

Just curious...but why don't you (oyster, art, dilfan) participate in neworleans.com board?

I look, read, get upset by the overly political speaches and volumes of b.s. from a few "leaders" of that forum.

You're correct about the General Discussion board. But the food board is pretty tame. I participate in all forums to some extent. If this food forum becomes active again I will be here too.

EAC, I try to but we have a problem at work and I'm putting in 54 hours a week, on average, and getting my daughter away to LSU. By the time I get home, I hardly get on the computer at all! Hopefully, work will straighten up after the counter person has her baby and bonds for a couple of weeks.

Schuarta, I don't come here often but, why would you be upset by or even read political discussions on a general discussion board. The participants in the discourse you quote post on the food section in a civil and even cordial manner to each other. Surely your delicate sensibilities could be protected by looking at the thread heading and distinguish it as political. Just saying.
